Meet the team

David Moroney

Practice Principal

Chartered Accountant (FCA), BBS (Hons.) in Accounting and Finance, HND in Management

David was reared within a family business which instilled the limitations of small family businesses as well as encouraging a solid work ethic from an early age. Following completion of a Degree in Accountancy and Finance, he joined a Mid-West based accountancy firm where he completed his qualification whilst rising to the rank of Audit Manager within the firm. He was then appointed as Financial Controller of a large furniture manufacturer specialising in the wholesaling of furniture to retailers throughout Ireland and the UK. In this role he was responsible for the financial affairs of the company’s Irish and UK subsidiaries.

Having garnered experience in practice and industry, in large and small businesses, David identified an opportunity to develop an accountancy practice that closely works with its client base to delivery focussed results so he then proceeded to setup Moroney & Co. in 2009.

Apart from general management of the practice, David enjoys working directly with clients, particularly in the areas of strategic development, corporate finance, succession planning and general financial advisory matters.

In his spare time David enjoys current affairs, politics, sports, socialising and gardening.

Nicholi Cody

Office Manager

Member of the Institute of
Accounting Technicians Ireland

Nicholi, as the Office Manager is usually the first port of call for client queries! She joined the firm in Autumn 2009, having started to undertake the accounting technician course, attaining a destination upon completion. Nicholi was the firm’s first employee, quickly learned the ropes and was appointed as Office Manager as the firm grew.

Nicholi’s role includes dealing with general queries, managing workflows in the office and liaising with staff and clients in respect of VAT and RCT filing obligations.

In her spare time Nicholi enjoys fitness, current affairs and gardening.

Joanne Maher

Accountant and Taxation Adviser

Chartered Certified Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser, BBS in Business Studies

Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), Chartered Tax Adviser, BBS in Business Studies

Joanne joined the firm in Summer 2016 having gained extensive experience in a number of various roles in her native Cork before moving to Clare.

Joanne’s role includes the preparation of financial statements and taxation returns for a variety of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies and as a Member of the Irish Taxation Institute, Joanne acts as a taxation adviser in the areas of Capital Gains Tax and Capital Acquisitions Tax.

In her spare time Joanne enjoys walking, gardening and reading.

Tara Malone

Accountant

Chartered Accountant (FCA), BBS in Business Studies, Diploma in Tax from the Irish Tax Institute (2020).

Tara initially qualified in a large Mid-West accountancy practice before broadening her experience with a role in industry before then moving back into practice when she joined our firm in Autumn 2017.

Tara’s role includes the preparation of financial statements and taxation returns for a variety of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

In her spare time Tara enjoys walking, reading and some volunteering.

Marion O’Flynn

Accountant

Diploma in Banking, Member of the Institute of Accounting Technicians Ireland

Marion’s career to date was primarily in banking up to management level. Marion completed the Accounting Technician qualification prior to joining the firm in Spring 2020, attaining a distinction.

Marion’s role is the preparation of financial statements and taxation returns for a variety of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

In her spare time Marion enjoys pilates, music, reading and volunteering.

Dave Tuohy

Trainee Accountant

BSc (Hons.) in Chemical Instrumentation and Analysis, PGDip in Biopharmaceutical Science.

Dave’s career to date was primarily in the pharmaceutical industry up to management level. Dave joined the firm in January 2022 and is completing his accountancy training within the firm to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.

Dave’s role includes the preparation of financial statements and taxation returns for a variety of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

In his spare time Dave enjoys walking, DIY and spending time with his family.

Kate Skehan

Trainee Accounting Technician

Kate joined the firm in June 2023 and is currently completing her Accounting Technician training through Accounting Technicians Ireland.

In her role, Kate is gaining practical experience across key areas of accountancy while supporting senior team members in delivering high-quality services to clients. Her responsibilities include the completion of book-keeping assignments, preparation of VAT returns, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements to trial balance stage.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys pilates, yoga, music, and keeping up to date with current affairs.

Eogháin Jordan

Trainee Accountant

BBS (Hons.) in Accounting and Finance.

Eogháin joined the firm in January 2024 as a cooperative education student while completing his BBS (Hons.) in Accounting and Finance. He is now undertaking his accountancy training within the firm to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.

Eogháin is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and taxation returns for a variety of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

In his spare time Eogháin enjoys music, golf and reading.

Éimear Madden

Accounting Technician

Certificate for Accounting Technicians, BA in Mathematics.

Éimear joined in March 2025, with over 15 years of industry experience in Accounts Assistant and Credit Controller roles.

Éimear’s role involves the management of a portfolio clients looking after their book-keeping requirements coupled with the preparation of their VAT and statistical returns.

In her spare time Éimear enjoys sport and spending time with her family.

Elizabeth Turner

Taxation Consultant

BA with Honours in Criminology and Sociology, Chartered Tax Advisor

Elizabeth joined the team in Autumn 2020 and qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor with the Irish Taxation Institute.

Elizabeth is responsible for tax consulting matters within the practice, the preparation of income tax and capital tax returns for a number of sole traders and individuals coupled with the management of company secretarial services within the practice.

In her spare time Elizabeth enjoys gardening, music and reading.

Michelle Ryan

Accounting Technician and Payroll Manager

BBS in Business & Accounting, Diploma in Payroll Management

Michelle joined in May 2026, with over 20 years’ experience across all aspects of accounting within a medium sized business.

Michelle’s role involves the management of payroll services within the practice, along with managing the book-keeping requirements for a portfolio of clients.

In her spare time Michelle enjoys spending time with family, baking and travelling.
