It’s not just larger businesses that need an accountant! Even the smallest business can benefit from advice on growing their business, ways to minimise tax and manage their accounts efficiently. If you prefer, we can handle all of your bookkeeping, provide regular management accounts and prepare VAT returns on your behalf. The added benefit of us being involved is that having prepared the books it makes the preparation of the financial statements much easier, saving time and keeping costs down.
We too were a start-up ourselves once! We would be delighted to provide you with a copy of our business start-up guide and also with a free, no obligation consultation. It is vitally important that an accountant be engaged early in the start-up phase so that the correct structure is set-up, that you are aware of the records required and that any pitfalls are identified early, particularly around VAT! We can also assist you in accessing government grants and supports, applying for finance and preparing business plans.
Working with an accountant is an added cost to any business but we would argue an essential one! The cost should be offset by the value they add. We work closely with our clients to achieve their objectives particularly by getting to know you and your business well so we can tailor what we do specifically for your needs and your strategy, thereby adding value.
We aim to deliver competitive fees that will cover the areas we will work on together. This will be based on the complexity and volume of the work involved. We offer you the chance to pay our fees monthly and avoid having a large invoice in one go, which helps your cashflow (and ours!). One thing is for sure, if you telephone with a query you won’t get a bill like some of our competitors! We want to work with you closely, hand-in-hand, to assist you in growing your business.
If you want to keep your own accounting records, then that is perfectly fine with us! If you need some help then we can give you some training, particularly in cloud accounting which allows us to access your records via the cloud! Ensuring that you understand the best way to prepare your accounting information makes it easier for us to complete your financial statements and taxation returns.
Sometimes it helps to have a fresh pair of eyes look at your business! We will listen to you and firstly understand the history of the business and then establish your strategy to grow it. We can carry out a “healthcheck” of the operating systems, management and financial reporting in place; advise on any matters arising and recommend any actions required. This is all designed to match up with your goals, which we will have established at the outset. We encourage a free, no obligation initial consultation to get the ball rolling!
It is very straight-forward to change accountant as there is a set procedure involved which take care of. After an initial meeting with us and having agreed the parameters of our engagement we proceed to write to your outgoing accountant for “professional clearance” and a copy of the records necessary to complete the transfer. It is expected that they reply promptly and in full.
